Course outcomes
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to…
- understand the biblical and theological foundations for congregational mission and:
- analyze the context of their congregation and its surrounding community, highlighting missional opportunities, needs and obstacles;
- analyze the culture, leadership and practices of their church within the context of congregational missions;
- connect the theological foundations of congregational missions with the practical life and ministry of their church;
- apply theoretical knowledge to develop the missional capability of their church, analyzing their church’s internal resources and external factors, and applying the principles of discovering and empowering people’s gifts, calling and abilities in their church’s ministry and missions;
- plan- in cooperation with other participants- a contextual and needs-based mission initiative and implement it as a practical mission experiment;
- theologically and critically reflect on the mission, evaluate its fruitfulness and plan the next steps for it based on the experience.
